David was a Co-founder of Wildlife Quest Kenya in the early 2000's; an organisation that studied elephant migration and collected data to create local conservancies in the Maasai Community Lands of Kenya. After several years working with those communities and several other wildlife organisations David turned his interest to nearer home and set up dghconservation in UK in 2020.
With an interest in the effect of herbivores living in a natural habitat his attention was drawn to the increasing use of animals in conservation and habitat regeneration. By focusing on the changes in their behaviour he has developed a range of monitoring processes to explore how they can be managed to provide beneficial ecological changes and increased biodiversity. He also works with the farming community developing regenerative schemes, conservation grazing, habitat creation and working towards the re-introduction of beavers and other species into the natural environment.
David has completed the Lantra Advanced Conservation Grazing courses with RBST to compliment his General Agriculture qualifications, has mammal survey abilities and holds a Natural England CL51 Beaver Licence.
He regularly attends topical Wildwood Trust courses and conferences such as The Beaver Trust, Harpur Adams, RBST and Coombeshead "Keep it Wild".
